The department offers a well-rounded curriculum spanning the core areas of humanities and social sciences, equipping students with the knowledge and perspectives needed to understand and engage with the world. Subjects include Ancient History, Sociology, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, English Literature, English Language, Hindi Literature, Sanskrit, Home Science, Geography, and Education. In addition to classroom learning, the department supports students through coaching for one-day government exams, career counseling, and placement guidance. Encouraging active participation in debates, educational tours, seminars, and field visits, the department offers exposure beyond textbooks while promoting social responsibility through active involvement in the National Service Scheme (NSS).

Established in 1998, the Department of Arts is the oldest and one of the most prestigious departments of the college. It began with the B.A. programme and expanded in 2008 to include postgraduate studies with the M.A. programme. Over the years, it has built a strong reputation for academic integrity and continues to serve as a cornerstone of the institution’s educational mission.
